A few weeks ago Maja visited me and after cycling through the whole centre, eating stroopwafels and wandering around the 9 staatjes district we took the ferry to the other side of the Ij.

The time has come: I can officially wear my favourite sweater without feeling guilty because it's not wintery enough yet. But now it definitely is. A few more days and a few more assignments and I am going back home for Christmas.

Easy to see that these photos are taken right where the latest outfit post was taken but this time it's not me but my friend Lea (@distinctual) who totally rocks these anthracite coloured flared pants. Lately I also really have been enjoying playing around with the layouts of the posts, keeping it clean and minimalistic but still it's a bit different to older posts. It's not a big change but I have to stick to constantly progressing on my blog.

Lea and me spent some time discovering new places in Duesseldorf and also visited a friend who is studying in Amsterdam so there are more posts planned! Xx

04/05 CREAM AND PASTEL

Oh hello, something really unusual today but my friend Lea (@distinctual) and me actually got to take some photos in front of this super cool (and outfit-matching) house front when we met up last week. So a big thanks to her for some photos of me I quite like, and yes that's a really really exceptional thing. I just still don't know how to behave in front of a camera and I feel much more comfortable behind it but I guess I'm getting a bit better. My outfit basically consists of what I am wearing all spring long, it's too cold without a woollen coat but I am sooo excited for early summer that I need some light and pastel colours. It's not easy though to keep my fingers off my grey sweaters and put on something that actually has a little bit of colour.

Weil der Text nicht so lang ist und ich Zeit und Lust hab jetzt das ganze auch nochmal in Deutsch; bin mir immer noch nicht ganz sicher wie ich das in Zukunft machen will, mit dem Schreiben und so, dieses "mal so mal so" verwirrt doch irgendwie.

Jedenfalls, mal was ganz untypisches, richtige Outfitphotos von mir, wow. Lea (@distinctual) und ich hatten uns letzte Woche getroffen und da war dieses tolle Schaufenster und ich dachte, hey, zur Abwechslung hast du mal nicht deine graue-Jeans-graues-Sweatshirt-Combo an also mach doch mal Fotos. Ich bin wirklich nicht so dafür geeignet vor der Kamera zu stehen, weiß einfach nicht was ich dann machen soll. Aber danke Lea, das hast du ganz gut hinbekommen. Ich denke, ich bleib trotzdem eher hinter der Kamera. :) Was ich anhabe find ich eigentlich super für den Frühling, würde zwar ganz gern meinen Wollmantel im Schrank lassen aber ohne geht dann doch nicht, vor allem wenn ich Fahrrad fahren muss, dann ist es schnell recht kalt. Also egal, dazu einfach ein paar helle Farben, und schön viel weiß, creme, beige... Mehr muss aber dann doch nicht sein, fühle mich einfach nicht wohl in knalligen Farben. Deshalb verkauf ich auch ein paar Sachen auf meinem Kleiderkreisel, also guckt mal rein!

06/01 WOOLEN COAT

Hi. If some of you can call yourself some lucky instagram follower of mine you might have seen my latest outfit photo and my confession that I am seriously the WORST in front of a camera. I'm not only just saying this, really, you can ask everyone who ever had the (almost) impossible task to capture my outfit. I don't know how to move, how to behave, how to act and asking every 2 seconds to see the camera. As soon as I am back behind the camera I know exactly what I want the photo to look like and the poort person modelling has to be super super patient with me. :D But nevertheless, sometimes I just want to show my oh-so-special outfit so here we go, and a HUGE THANKS to my friend Ida for her patience to take the photos!

All die glücklichen unter euch, die mir auf Instagram folgen haben vielleicht unter einem meiner letzten Bilder davon gelesen, dass ich vor der Kamera wirklich zu nichts zu gebrauchen bin. Und ich sag das nicht nur so, fragt ruhig alle, die schonmal die (fast) unmögliche Aufgabe bewältigen mussten, mein Outfit zu fotografieren. Ich weiß dann immer überhaupt nicht, was ich machen soll, wie ich mich bewegen soll, wie ich gucken soll und frag alle 2 Sekunden ob ich mal kurz sehen dürfte. Sobald ich dann zurück hinter der Kamera stehe, ist alles wieder gut, ich weiß so genau, wie das Bild aussehen soll und bin immer wieder froh über die Geduld derer, die dann vor der Kamera stehen und mitmachen müssen, bis ich zufrieden bin. :D Naja, wie auch immer, manchmal will ich aber einfach euch meine Outfits zeigen, gerade, wenn es um so einen perfekten Mantel geht, der meine neue große Liebe ist. Danke an Ida, die so geduldig war, und Fotos gemacht hat, bis ich (mehr oder weniger) zufrieden war.

20/12 IDA

So I was on a coffee-and-christmas-shopping-date with my friend Ida last week and we took some photos, how could we not, she is SO photogenic! It was so much fun finally taking some portraits again and even though the sky was grey and started to turn dark they turned out to be quite bright and sharp. I love the colours and I think this door we found was just perfect matching her hair. Was so nice seeing her again! :)

Letzte Woche hab ich Ida getroffen, zum Kaffeetrinken und Weihnachtsgeschenke-kaufen und wir haben bei der Gelegenheit ein paar Fotos gemacht! Es hat so Spaß gemacht, mal wieder ein bisschen zu fotografieren, also so richtig und obwohl der Himmel verdächtig dunkel-grau war und irgendwie immer dunkler wurde sind die Bilder überraschend hell und leuchtend. Ich liebe die Farben und Kontraste, die Tür war als Hintergrund auch einfach perfekt. War schön sie mal wieder zu treffen! :)

Jedenfalls hätte ich Lust in nächster Zeit mal wieder ein paar Fotoshootings zu machen, so wie das, oder diese hier, also, wenn ihr Lust habt oder noch ein Weihnachtsgeschenk für eine Freundin sucht und im Raum Düsseldorf wohnt meldet euch einfach bei mir: cocomathilde@gmail.com

Hello fellows! Some of you asked me to talk a bit about my life in Barcelona and since I am not a fashion blogger letting you know how great my backpack is, where I got it from and how perfect I can combine it I will just let the photos be photos and instead tell you a bit about Barcelona.

When somebody would ask how my impression about Barcelona is I would say that in some ways it reminds me of Paris (it certainly has the looks of it, all these beautiful old building with cute balconies, long alleys and passages...) but than again, the mentality is quite the opposite. I mean, I like Paris, a lot, but sometimes I feel like the people there are a bit "cold", too cool, to stylish... I know these are mostly clichés and I wouldn't want to pigeon-hole here, but this is my impression. The  Barcelonesens are different. Even though they aren't Spanish, (never ever mix up the Catalans and the Spanish) they are - most of the time - almost as open-hearted and easy-going as their neighbours. I think what influenced my opinion the most was the life here in summer: I wouldn't spend one weekend without going to a one of the street-festivals, called 'Festa Major', where the whole neighbourhood is on the streets, dancing, drinking, singing and celebrating. Everyone, the whole family, every age. I will never forget all those live-concerts, karaoke-stages and salsa competitions I experienced. But, also generally the people here always seem to have a reason to celebrate: I have seen tapas-markets and street-food-festivals, public lindy-hop-sessions in the streets, concerts at the beach and so much more. Here in Barcelona things might be a bit unorganised every now and then (though I have to say I have rarely seen such a well working public transport system) but still the people always seem to enjoy life so much, complain so little and to live today and this is one of the things us Germans can learn from them.

Hallo ihr lieben. Ich wurde gefragt, ob ich nicht mal ein bisschen was über das Leben hier in Barcelona erzählen könnte. Ich nehme diese Fotos jetzt mal zum Anlass, genau das zu tun, das ist ja kein Modeblog hier und es käme jetzt irgendwie schon ein bisschen komisch, wenn ich euch jetzt darüber zutexten würde, wie toll der Rucksack ist und wie wunderbar man ihn mit allen Basics kombinieren kann. No offense! Wie auch immer, ich glaube, man kann das niemals zusammenfassen, wie das ist, hier in Barcelona zu leben, aber ich versuch einfach mal einen kleinen Eindruck zu verschaffen.

Mein erster Eindruck von Barcelona - und, teilweise ist er auch so geblieben - war, dass mich die Stadt irgendwie an Paris erinnert hat, jedenfalls, in Hinsicht auf die wunderbaren alten, mit Balkonen verzierten Häuser im Eixample. Andererseits sind die Städte total gegensätzlich. Ich war schon öfters in Paris, es hat mir auch immer super gefallen, bis auf, das die Menschen mir da immer irgendwie ein bisschen zu kühl vorkommen, ein bisschen hochnäsig. Keine Vorurteile oder so, einfach nur so mein Gefühl. Und die Barceloneser: offen und immer gut drauf, immer am feiern. Am meisten gesprägt haben mich die unzähligen Sommerabende, die ich auf den 'Festa Majors' in den einzelnen Stadtteilen verbracht habe: geschmückte Straßen, Livemusik, Tanzwettbewerbe und alle Bewohner draußen, gemeinsam am feiern und tanzen. Alle, von klein bis groß, waren dabei und es war einfach so beeindruckend, wie glücklich und zufrieden alle in dem Moment schienen. Das ist mir auch öfter noch aufgefallen: die Barceloneser finden immer einen Grund zum feiern, sei es auf Street-Food-Festivals, Konzerten am Strand oder Tapas-Märkten und immer scheint es, als würde es ihnen unglaublich leicht fallen, das Leben zu genießen und im Jetzt zu leben. Vielleicht ist es nicht immer so, vielleicht ist es auch mehr so mein persönlicher Eindruck, aber wie auch immer es ist, ich denke, von diesem Lebensgefühl kann sich so mancher Nordeuropäer was abgucken.

13/09 GRETA

Spending a nice day with Greta here in Barcelona eventually leaded to looking a nice setting to take some photos. We were just wandering around "El Born", one of my favourite Barrios in the city when we came across this cute street and it was love at first sight so we spent some time there taking photos. I reaaally enjoyed photographing her, not only she is super photogenic and wore a damn cool denim dress and a perfect matching bag but also because it was the first time in many weeks I could take the time to photograph someone without the person being all nervous and bored after 5 minutes.  // So anyways, here are the results! Hugs and kisses to Greta who was a great guest here in BCN and endured bravely my guided city walks and my urge to have a look at every cute shop or café we came across. We ended up in the Parc de la Ciutadella, relaxing and enjoying the setting sun and some guitar music from a group of students in the background. xx

Mit Greta unterwegs in Barcelona hat - wie zu erwarten - letztendlich dazu geführt, dass wir nach einer guten Location für ein paar Fotos suchten. Nachdem wir uns ein, zwei Stunden durch "El Born", eins meiner Lieblingsviertel, haben treiben lassen kamen wir plötzlich durch diese super süße Straße. Es war Liebe auf den ersten Blick und das Setting wie für uns gemacht. Es hat so Spaß gemacht, Greta zu fotografieren, nicht nur, weil sie einfach ein super cooles Jeanskleid mit perfekt passender Tasche trug (von ihren silbernen Sandalen ganz zu schweigen), aber auch, weil ich endlich mal wieder jemanden zu fotografieren hatte, der nicht nach 5 Minuten genervt oder gelangweilt war. // Wie auch immer, hier jedenfalls die Ergebnisse. Ein riesiges Dankeschön an meine liebe Greta, die sich als Gast hier einfach super gemacht hat, brav meine Stadtführungen durch eine der schönsten Ecken Barcelonas mitgemacht hat und sich nie beschwert hat, wenn ich mal wieder irgendeinen kleinen Laden oder Café entdeckt hatte und es mir unbedingt angucken wollte. Im Parc de la Ciutadella haben wir dann den Abend ausklingen lassen und die Abendsonne genossen, während neben uns eine Gruppe Studenten Gitarre gespielt und gesungen hat. xx
